Each year as we roll into the month of December, FreshOne Distribution Services takes a look back at our year as a whole. We look for areas of improvement, increased successes, and what is to come in the year ahead.

The year of 2017 has brought the FreshOne Distribution team new opportunities for growth and success. We are truly grateful. To put it simply, we could not have done it without the consistent support from our clients and partners.

From a business standpoint, we had another wonderful year. That being said, we understand that our home state of Texas was hit hard in 2017 and many of our partners and clients were affected. In late August through early September, more than fifty counties throughout Texas felt the devastating effects of Hurricane Harvey. Our FreshOne team had the privilege of assisting in recovery efforts, including delivering sandwiches, other food, and supplies to the Houston Police Department. From Dallas to Houston, and all around the nation, neighbors and everyday people came together as family to help those in need.

While the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey is still very present here in Texas and there is still so much to do, it is incredibly humbling to know how many people joined forces to assist the people of Texas.

After the winds and rain settled, on November 1, 2017, Houston and the entire state of Texas’ spirits were lifted when our Houston Astros won the 113th World Series in game seven, a very exciting game! Our state erupted in joy and we were given the bright spot we’d been looking for since August.

It seemed as if our state was back on track, full of hope and celebration. That was until just four days later, on November 5th, a gunman killed 26 people and injured 20 more in a Sutherland Springs, Texas church. Our hearts broke all over again.

There may be small towns in Texas, like Sutherland Springs, but there are only big communities. This heinous act again has united the great people of the state of Texas, and while we grieve and seek answers, we are also growing stronger together.

To all of those affected by Hurricane Harvey and/or the shooting in Sutherland Springs, we are here for you as fellow Texans, fellow Americans, and you are in our hearts and prayers.

While FreshOne Distribution Services looks over the past year of 2017, we can only learn from the dim moments to ensure a bright outlook on the year ahead. To all our clients and partners, thank you for your support and we look forward to making 2018 our best year yet! Our team wishes you and yours a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
